What are the boosters?
Practice boosters are two optional features in Fay designed to help you increase new patient bookings:
On-demand bookings: when enabled, patients will see an Available now badge on your Fay profile and can instantly book with you. On-demand bookings can help you fill open slots from last-minute cancellations or maximize underused parts of your schedule.
Free initial consultations: offering free initial consultations lets you reinvest your initial consultation payout to promote your Fay profile and attract more patients. This can be useful when jumpstarting your practice, returning from time off, or maintaining a steady patient flow
How do I turn on the boosters?
To enable on-demand bookings or free initial consultations:
Go to your Fay Homepage
Click Boost
Select the toggle next to the feature you would like to turn on.
Do I have to use the boosters?
No, boosters are entirely optional. They are tools available to help you grow your practice and it is completely up to you whether and how you use them. Both boosters can be turned on or off at any time.
When I enable on-demand bookings how soon can patients book with me?
When on-demand bookings are enabled, patients can book an appointment with you within 24 hours. You will receive a text message as soon as a session is booked, and you will always have at least a 10-minute buffer before the appointment begins.
How long should free initial consultations be?
Free initial consultations follow the same format as standard initial consultations. These appointments default to 90 minutes and can be decreased to 60 minutes the same way you would adjust the length of any other initial consultation.
What will my payout be if I only enable on-demand bookings?
If only on-demand booking is enabled, insurance reimbursement is based on the time spent with your patient and is billed in 15-minute increments, following CMS guidelines for the 8-minute rule. After the appointment, your estimated insurance reimbursement for the session is available at the bottom of your chart note, based on the recorded appointment times.
What will my payout be if I enable both boosters?
If both free initial consultations and on-demand booking are enabled at the same time, the payout for the appointment will reflect the free initial consultation booster. After the appointment, your estimated insurance reimbursement for the session is available at the bottom of your chart note.
