Updating your Fay profile

How do I make changes to my Fay profile to update my bio, specialties, profile picture, or other profile details?

To make changes to your profile, navigate to Settings in Fay. From there, they’ll be taken to their Profile page, where you can edit your profile details.

How do I remove or change the address on my Fay profile?

Fay’s system requires an address to be listed on the Fay profile, and the address displayed must match the primary practice address listed on the public NPI database. To update your profile address:

  1. Update your primary practice address on the NPI registry. Here is a step-by-step guide to help with this process

  2. Once the update is showing publicly on your NPI record, submit this form, and the Fay team will apply the change to your profile

Important: The address cannot be a PO box.

Optimizing your Fay profile

How do I find my Fay profile?

Your Fay profile is accessible using your personal booking link, which is available on your Fay Homepage.

What should I include in my bio?

Your bio should clearly communicate who you are, how you work, and who you work best with. Consider addressing the following in your bio:

  • How you work with patients

  • The modalities you see (e.g., non-diet approach, functional nutrition, HAES, intuitive eating)

  • Who your ideal patient is

  • What sets you apart from other dietitians

Tip: Your bio is also an opportunity to show your personality. Patients are looking for someone they can relate to and trust, let them get to know you.

How do I take a professional headshot at home?

A strong profile photo can be taken at home with a few simple steps. Plan to take at least 20 photos with varied expressions so you have plenty to choose from. Keep the following in mind:

  • Taking the photo: have a friend take your photo or use your phone's self-timer

  • Camera settings: if a friend is taking your photo, ask them to use portrait mode to blur the background and keep the focus on you

  • Background: choose a simple, uncluttered background such as a solid-colored wall or a natural outdoor backdrop with minimal distractions

  • Lighting: stand in a shaded area with your face pointed toward a light source. Natural light from a window or a ring light both work well

  • Outfit: wear something professional and comfortable, and avoid bright or heavily patterned clothing
