Average rating

Understand how your average rating is calculated and why it matters for your practice.

What is average rating?

Your average rating reflects how patients rate their experience working with you on Fay on a scale of 1-5.

How is average rating calculated?

Your average rating is calculated using all ratings you’ve received after completed appointments, using the following formula:

(Sum of all patient ratings ÷ total number of ratings received) = average rating

The following metrics are included in the average rating calculation:

  • Ratings source: ratings submitted after every occurred appointment. Each completed visit can generate one rating

  • Rating scale: 1 to 5

  • Rating history: all ratings received across your lifetime on Fay

  • Minimum threshold: at least 1 rating is required to calculate an average

  • Updates: the metric updates as new ratings are submitted

The following is excluded from the average rating calculation:

  • 1 to 5 star ratings submitted as part of written reviews are not included in the average rating calculation

Why does average rating matter?

Your average rating provides direct feedback from patients about their experience working with you and helps build trust with prospective patients visiting your Fay profile.
