The Progress tab brings together your patient's key health information in one centralized view, making it easy to monitor progress and reference important data during care.
Today, the Progress tab includes:
Weight tracking, including historical entries and trend visualization
Uploaded lab results
We’ll continue expanding the Progress tab with additional health metrics over time.
Where can I find the Progress tab?
Navigate to Patients, select a patient, then choose Progress from the top navigation.
From here, you can:
Review patient metrics
Explore historical trends
View uploaded lab results
Metrics
What metrics are currently tracked?
Today, weight is the only health metric tracked longitudinally in the Progress tab. We’ll continue expanding the additional health metrics tracked over time.
How do I view a patient’s weight history?
The Weight metric provides a snapshot of the patient’s progress, including most recent weight, total weight change since joining Fay, and a preview of the patient’s weight trend.
To view more detailed, click into the Weight metric. From there, you can:
View every recorded weight and see the change from the previous weight
Compare weight changes alongside appointment markers
View weight trends across 7 days, 30 days, 3 months, 6 months, or 12 months
Where do weight values come from?
Weight history combines measurements from two sources:
Patient logged: weights shared by the patient from the Fay app
Clinically documented: weights documented in your chart note
Each weight is labeled with its source, making it easy to distinguish between patient-reported and provider-documented measurements.
How does weight connect to chart notes?
When documenting a visit, the latest recorded weight logged by the patient will automatically populate below the required field.
If you use Draft with AI, this weight will automatically be incorporated into your generated note.
If you enter a new weight, this value will automatically be added to the patient’s weight history and appears in the Progress tab.
What weight information can patients log and see?
Weight is now visible by default for patients in the Fay app unless they identified eating disorders/disordered eating as a primary concern. Clinically, weight may be relevant across many areas of nutrition care, while in patients presenting specifically for ED/disordered eating care, routine weight display may be inappropriate or inconsistent with the treatment approach.
In the coming weeks, all patients will be able to turn weight visibility off whenever that is more appropriate for the care plan.
Patients can log weight from the Journal in the Fay app. When logging weight, patients can choose whether each entry is:
Shared with their provider
Private (“Just me”)
Only shared entries appear in the provider Progress tab. Weights documented by providers in chart notes are never visible to patients.
Labs
How do I view uploaded lab results?
The Labs section provides quick access to laboratory results uploaded to the patient’s chart.
Each uploaded document appears as its own entry. Select Expand to review the results without leaving the Progress tab.
As new lab documents are uploaded or shared in the chat, they’ll automatically appear in this section.
